Phillip Sear plays the first from a set of 12 'Federzeichnungen' (Pencil sketches) from 1899 by the Danish pianist and composer Ludvig Schytte. (Sorry about the spelling mistake in the video title frame). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you would like to know more about Ludvig Schytte (1848-1909) the Danish pianist and composer of this piece, have a look at his own brief account of his life written in 1901 in the March edition of the Etude magazine, which can be downloaded from here: https://goo.gl/zy5trR . For me the 'Pencil sketches', taken as a whole, are not Schyttes most inspired works - but there are some attractive movements, including this lovely invocation of a Sunday morning - in which, presumably, the distant sounds of bells were not interrupted by passing traffic or aircraft! My thumbnail shows a detail from 'Sunday Morning' by the American artist Asher Brown Durand (1796-1886). ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------- Played by Phillip Sear http://www.psear.co.uk (Email: [email protected] WhatsApp: http://wa.me/441444483794 ) TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@pianogems
