Driver accused of killing girl in prom-night crash in court for hearing

BUTLER COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) - A 17-year-old girl accused of killing her friend in a prom-night crash was in court Monday afternoon.

The hearing was continued until Aug. 20 while attorneys on both sides exchange information.

The crash on Milliken Road killed 17-year-old Kaylie Jackson in April. Two other teens were hurt. Now, the young driver is charged with vehicular assault and homicide. She's currently on house arrest and her license is suspended.

If she's convicted, she could be sentenced to the juvenile detention center until she turns 21.
