A stroll through the new pear orchard section. These pears are still small-they're only 2 years old-but have doubled in size since planting in early 2008. Next year they should really grow away and give us a light crop. I am planning to stake each one to support them as pyramids, manure heavily and prune very minimally for earlier cropping. we took a long tmoe to realise how well pears grew on this piece of land, and how eager our customers were for them.
