For Canadians operating a commercial vehicle in the United States, you must keep a log book according to United States rules. If you switch back & forth between Canadian & US rules, you will be in violation of American rules, and will most likely get a fine, and end up working the day for free. As well, Canadian drivers cannot move freight, people, or service between points in the United States.
