New search for missing woman in Dayton area park

BELLBROOK, Ohio (WKRC)- It's been nearly a year since a woman originally from the Lebanon area went missing. 

Chelsey Coe's mother says she has not talked with her daughter since last July.

New information brought investigators to Sugarcreek MetroPark in Bellbrook, Ohio on Tuesday.

This is the second time in the past couple of months they've searched a new area in hopes of finding Coe.

The FBI, Ohio BCI and local police were all out searching the park on Tuesday.

Chelsey's mom, Shula Woodworth, said that she found out about the search from the news.

"You would've thought I would've got a phone call saying, 'Uhm, we're going to do another search for Chelsey," Woodworth said over the phone.

Investigators recieved new information that Chelsea may have been in the area near the park when she disappeared last year.

Chelsey was reported missing in August after her mother had not heard from her for some time, but so far there's been little progress in the case.

"It's stressful, especially not knowing anything. You know, we might get a lead come in and we don't hear anything back from it. We just sit here wondering," Woodworth said.

This isn't the first time crews dug for evidence in Coe's disappearance. Investigators searched a Miamisburg property in May. Detectives said they gathered some evidence but did not find Chelsey.

Woodworth said she has nearly given up hope of finding her daughter alive.

"I’d be shocked, if after all this time, I mean, it saddens my heart to think that. You've got to think in reality." Woodworth said.

Her mother just wants anyone with information to come forward.

"I just want some kind of closure. To know what happened and I'd like to find her," Woodworth said.

Crews will be out Wednesday and Thursday hoping to find some sign of Chelsey.

Woodworth said she hopes to hold a fundraiser for her daughter. The money would be used as a reward and hopefully get someone to come forward and finally say where Chelsey is.
