Phillip Sear plays a most beautiful reverie by the Slovenian composer Anton Lajovic (1878-1960). ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I quote from Encyclopedia.com ( https://tinyurl.com/y8s7b9bn ): "[Anton Lajovic] studied at the Ljubljana Gasbena Music School before taking a course in composition with Fuchs at the Vienna Cons. (1897–1902); concurrently studied law at the Univ. of Vienna. In subsequent years, Lajovic served as a judge in Slovenia and Croatia while pursuing a second career as a composer. He was a prominent figure in Slovenian music circles. Among his works were a number of orch. scores, choral pieces, and songs." This piece was published in a Slovenian music journal, and whilst showing a distinct personal voice, has echoes of Brahms and Tchaikovsky in its piano writing.
