MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) Mayor-elect Sandy Stimpson officially takes office November 1st. That means a lot of the staff with the current administration are preparing to step down from their roles with the city. Mayor Sam Jones says after the election, his team offered to help with the transition but its now come the time when many of his staffers are preparing for retirement, cleaning out offices and tying up loose ends. We've responded to every request we've gotten and what we've basically said to them is we've got some folks here who are transitioning out so when it got to be 15 days away from that then we have to give them some time to do the things they have to do, said Jones. Mayor Jones says hes proud of his administration and the progress the city has made. He also says he plans to still be around and do what he can for the community.
