MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) - The Mobile City Council unanimously passed a $75,000 contract Tuesday for Phase One of a long-range plan for One Mobile. The contract is with Goodwyn, Mills and Cawood, Inc. Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson says it will help identify the core needs of the city. The Community Foundation of South Alabama announced the map of Mobile Fund to support the plan Monday. Organizers pledged $25,000 to Phase One of the project, which will pay for meetings and the compiling of research. The foundation hopes Mobilians will help through donations moving forward. The contract passed by the council Tuesday also noted there will be available funding for Phase Two of the project, not to exceed $150,000. Click here for previous story.
