Parade brings an early Christmas for Brody Allen in Colerain Township

COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) – Christmas comes early this year in Colerain Township. Snow fell over a parade on Springdale Road on Sunday, a Christmas Superhero Parade for two-year-old Brody Allen. 

Allen was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer back in May. In August, doctors gave him only a couple months to live so the family stopped treatment and began speeding up birthdays and holidays.

“He’s such an amazing little boy, who wouldn't want to give him Christmas and superheroes,” said Tiffany Gober.

Gober is one of hundreds lined up in the parade for Brody. It was put together quickly but you couldn’t tell, it went off without a hitch. At the front of the line with a police escort, Brody, his family and their favorite, Spiderman.

“He (Brody) was just so happy, it was amazing,” Brody’s sister, McKenzie Allen, said. “Not just for him but for everybody. I really don't have the words but it made his day, it made everyone's day.”

The parade and party that followed is the latest event for Brody. For the past few weekends, it has been one fundraiser and event after another for the Allen family.

“The love is just amazing, it's just, look around you, it's September and we're celebrating Christmas,” Brody’s father, Todd Allen, said. “All these kids are getting to do things they would never do on a day like today we're grateful to everyone.”

Support for Brody has gone worldwide over the past two weeks.  There’s no shortage of love in the Tri-State either, as Brody has shown us how to believe in a sense of community and be a part of something bigger, something good and kind.

“We found a new family that we really didn't have before and it's amazing and I don't think it's going to stop anytime soon either. This is a new family for life,” McKenzie Allen said.

The night was capped off by Rozzi Famous Fireworks. Now, with all these events concluding, the Allen family is looking forward to spending some private time with Brody.
