Pedestrian standing in Madeira road struck

MADEIRA, Ohio (WKRC) - A pedestrian was struck in Madeira Saturday night after witnesses said she was standing in the roadway. The accident happened near the 7400 block of Shawnee Run Road around 10:30 Saturday night. A man driving a Honda Civic was traveling west on Shawnee Run when he struck 39-year-old Li Jing Ju. According to the driver and others, it did not appear Ju was trying to walk across the road. There were no crosswalks at the scene, and there is a sidewalk on the north side of the road. Ju sustained serious injuries and was taken to the UC Medical Center. Speed and alcohol were not factors in the crash. The crash is still under investigation.
