Nearly 30 executives from Alabama's leading industries will serve on the state's Workforce Council. Governor Robert Bentley made the announcement Wednesday.

The group will advise state officials on how to tailor the state's education programs to meet the workforce needs of new and existing businesses.

State lawmakers passed a measure in the spring to create the council.
