The Top 10 Bizarre Inventions

Number 10: The Bow-Lingual Dog Bark Translator

This was named the “Best Invention of the Year” according to Time Magazine in 2002. It analyses a dog's barks and attempts to help you to understand what your dog is thinking, but can't read your pooch's mind. It sells for $50, and ironically there are many pet owners who believe it should tell them just what's on their dog's mind instead of as a fun invention, so it has some bad reviews. Otherwise, it might be something to try!

Number 9: Pencil Printer

Don't let the weather ruin your shoes again. This Umbrella Shoe Saver invention will extend the life of your expensive footwear by attaching little umbrellas to your feet. I'm not sure if this product is commercially available, or if it's meant to be a just a joke.

Number 8: Because Your Cigarette Needs an Umbrella

In the 1930s, it was an issue keeping a cigarette dry outside when someone wanted a smoke, so someone created a little umbrella for cigarettes in 1931. It consists of a tube with an umbrella over the cigarette, so you can be soaking wet, but your cigarette is dry as a desert!

Number 7: The Buggy Rollin' Suit

You can rollerblade on your belly like an Olympic luger thanks to Jean Yves Blondeau's invention. It has wheels on the feet, legs, hands, arms, shoulders, back, and chest, in case you want to try more than just on your feet. You can even try a Buggy Ice Suit for the winter season.

Number 6: Doggles

These were invented by Roni Di Lullo in 1997 because her dog couldn't see the Frisbee very well due to bright sun outside. These have a “tint” that blocks out harmful light so a dog can see and play at the same time.

Number 5: The Noodle Hair Guard

A common problem with eating a bowl of Ramen noodles if you have long hair is having your hair fall right in your noodles, and ruin your eating experience. A clever inventor in Japan created the “Noodle Hair Guard” from paper to stop this problem. The only issue is it cannot be found outside of Japan, not even on the Internet, so you can take a paper plate, cut a hole in it, and stick on your face! Hair-in-noodles problem solved.

Number 4: Dracula's Blood Light Bulb

Light bulbs use a lot of energy from electricity, which requires oil or coal to make. Now, what is one solution to that? Of course! Your body pumps out blood for free. One person figured out to invent a light bulb, which runs on blood in 2012. All you do is cut your finger, have some blood drip down, and it takes the energy from your blood, and makes light.

Number 3: Ostrich pillow

Appropriately named, the ostrich pillow (an actual product for sale) allows you to burry your face so you can take a nap anywhere. Essentially, this invention is a giant pillow that wraps around your face and provides a little breathing hole. Maybe it’s just me, but I wouldn’t be caught wearing this in public and if your not in public, why not just use a pillow. I don’t get it.

Number 2: Baby Mop

If you’re one of those parents that like to keep your baby clean of dirt and dust, this item isn’t for you. Oh wait, isn’t that every parent? This is an actual invention, for the laziest of parents so you can sit back and relax while your baby cleans your floor. I guess it’s a great way to start teaching your baby to do their chores!

Number 1: The Face Slimmer

The number one most bizarre invention ever originates out of Japan, called the Face Slimmer. Everyone wants to have a slimmer face, but I’m pretty sure this invention won’t be able to help. I think the actual product and look of the product is more bizarre than the idea. This is pink rubber piece that has a large hole in the middle and is inserted into the mouth. I’ll let you use your imagination on this one, but it no doubtedly makes it to the number one spot on our list of top 10 most bizarre inventions ever.

Time for the question of the day:

These are some bizarre ideas for sure. Have you ever had an idea of your own that you thought would be big just to realize it was a as ridiculous as some of these ideas?
