Kentucky one of first states to debut new text-to-play lottery card

COVINGTON, Ky. (WKRC) - There's a new way to buy lottery tickets in Kentucky.

The new text-to-play lottery card lets you buy and play Powerball and Mega Millions in checkout lanes and on gift card racks in Kroger stores statewide. Kentucky is among the first states to debut this new option.

Numbers are sent to the player's phone via text and picture message. Players are notified if they win.

Every time players win under $600, they get paid electronically via PayPal.
