The manual vacuum pump is made of stainless steel with a brushed metal look and it comes with two rubber wine stoppers that work with the pump to keep air out of the bottle to keep your wine fresh. It measures 5.75" tall and the handle is 3.25" wide. The glide action of the pump is smooth and it moves fluidly without much effort. Sucking the all the air out may require 10 or more pumps depending on how empty your bottle is, but you'll feel the pump start to slow down and feel harder to draw more air out when you're done. The seal on mine kept for many days and was easy to release by pushing up on the cork. The wine still tasted pretty good after being open for so long because the removal of the air kept the wine from oxidizing.
