MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. (WPMI) Great news for the Mobile County Public School System. The district met its graduation goal and then some.

The goal was to reach a graduation rate of 80 percent by 2020. Ahead of schedule at 82 percent.

Superintendent Martha Peek explained what's next for schools. "Our next goal is to be at 90 percent by 2017. We have lots of programs in place to make that possible," said Peek.

The numbers represent an increase from 75 percent in 2013 and 70 percent in 2012.
