Adrian Toomes, aka The Vulture, is one of Spider-Man's oldest foes (literally). Let's answer the question "Who is the vulture?" as we track him, Ultimate Vulture and the new Spider-Man: Homecoming version.

Making his debut in Amazing Spider-Man #2, Adrian Toomes broke into comics as The Vulture, beginning his long history. A flying thief that was looking to rob anything valuable right out from under the noses of the victims. Made bold by his powers of flight, Vulture would even announce when he was going to rob the next location. However, after Spider-Man had his first encounter with Toomes he quickly determined the source of his powers and came up with a device to disable it. Later, becoming a founding member of the Sinister Six, The Vulture would go on to battle Spider-Man repeatedly but fans never heard the true origin of the character until Amazing Spider-Man #240-241. Toomes was a gifted electronics expert that developed his electromagnetic harness as part of a business venture with his partner. After finding his partner was stealing the profits he went on to develop the Vulture suit and used it to enact his vengeance, eventually turning to a full blown life of crime. Most recently Toomes was seen in the pages of Superior Spider-Man and Superior Spider-Man Team-up as a member of the Superior Six.

However, Adrian Toomes wasn't the only version of the Vulture. After being sent to prison, Toomes entrusted his last pair of Vulture wings to Blackie Drago, which also happens to be the name of the Ultimate Version of the Vulture character. In the Ultimate Spider-Man universe, Blackie Drago didn't make his debut as the Vulture until Ultimate Spider-Man #89, where we find out that he is a former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and is wearing what looks to me a more tactical and mechanical version of the costume. He doesn't make much of an impact in the series until Ultimate Spider-Man #155-160 which is when he plays a large role in the Death of Spider-Man arc as a part of the Ultimate Six.

Since the Marvel Cinematic Universe has leaned heavily on the Ultimate universe comics for it's story and look, I feel like the Vulture from Spider-Man: Homecoming (played by Michael Keaton) will make a few changes. First, his technology was created by the Tinkerer so I don't think he will be creating his own suit anytime soon. This lines up perfectly with the story of Blackie Drago. Also, with the fighter pilot inspired helmet and bomber jacket, this version of Adrian Toomes is most likely a former military man. Possibly former Air Force or possibly a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent that was impacted by the events of Winter Soldier. Either way, the MCU version is looking to be a lot more badass than the comic book version.
