Coker Has No Regrets About Bama Move

(WPMI) There was a time back in August when Jake Coker was on the Maxwell Award watch list, but the transfer from FSU lost the QB battle to Blake Sims who's had a record-breaking year. Coker has no regrets.

"We're 12-1 sitting here in the playoffs and if there's who would be starting over me, Blake, he's a great guy. In all honesty, he's an inspiration to the whole team," said Jake Coker, Alabama backup quarterback.

Coker has every reason to hold his head up. Sims is moving on after this season. Coker has one more year of eligibility.   

"To me, everything happens for a reason. I made the decision I made and we're all where we're at and its not like I'm in a bad spot at all, so i mean, I'm happy with where I'm at," said Coker.

Coker knows he has to be locked in this week. If Sims gets hurt, Coker is the next man up.

"It's been the same, just maintain focus and you just gotta be ready to get in the game no matter what because you never know what's gonna happen," Coker said.

As Coker said, he has no regrets and sitting behind a proven veteran and learning before his senior year could pay dividends. Just ask Blake Sims how it worked out for him.
