PASADENA, Ca. (WPMI) On every team there is a special bond between a player and a coach. For Florida State Quarterback Jameis Winston, his bond extends to the opposing team. Winston has a close relationship with Auburn Receiver Coach, Dameyune Craig. In front of the whole country, the night of the Heisman ceremony, Winston expressed how much Coach Craig means to him. I trusted in the process with my main man, Coach Craig, I still love that man to today. He left for Auburn for the job of his dreams, Winston said. If I would have been around a lot of people, I would have started crying but it was really emotional for me, because he didn't have to do that for me and that says a lot about him as a person and for him to share the brightest moment of his life with me meant a lot to me, said Dameyune Craig. Coach Craig spent three seasons as an assistant at Florida State. He recruited Winston to Tallahassee and took him under his wing. Now even though Coach Craig left for Auburn, the two still remain in touch, somewhat. Yeah, I still talk to him, I just haven't been talking to him this week (laughs) He's a very important part of my life, especially for me coming to Florida State and I mean he's just a great guy. I love his family, I love him, it's a genuine love it's just not the type of love where you say I love you, but I look that man in his eyes and tell him, 'Coach, I love you,'‚ said Winston.
