Yahoo says hackers gained access to its users mail accounts using the same type of software used in the recent security breach at Target. An unspecified numbers of Yahoo mail users had their usernames and passwords compromised.Yahoo said it has started notifying users whose information may have been stolen. They're asking them to reset their passwords. Some passwords were reset automatically. The California-based tech giant said it believed attackers were attemptingn to access the accounts using credentials that had been obtained from a breach of another company's database. Yahoo did not identify that company, but said it contained al user email addresses. The information sought in the attack seems to be names and email addresses from the affected accounts most recent sent emails... We have no evidence that they were obtained directly from yahoo's systems, said Yahoo Senior VP Jay Rossiter. The company recently rolled out a new system for Yahoo mail designed to make the service more secure.CLICK HERE for more information on the breach.
