Well, as i have posted the even rarer, more obscure B side "Leave my body alone", i will also post the much sought after, little found A side. Released as a single, and only included on the 1977 issued 'At her very best', LP, "Be there in the morning" is a delight! Renee is not known for her songwriting, although part of her 9 year sojourn in America was as a housewriter for a label or two, and "Be there..." is a collaboration with Mal Logan and Barry Sullivan.

The album version of this r&b number, was an altogether funkier, heavier orchestration and an extra 30 seconds of duration. It appeared on Renee's 1977 opus (and my favourite of hers, and one of my all time favourite albums) "Moving Along". Alas, the 7" single did not find success, and remains an elusive collector's item for fanatics and lovers of rare pop music.
I hope the posting of these two hard to find songs bring enjoyment from the amazingly talented Ms Geyer and her mid 70's music. The images attempt to show the development of her career from 1972 til early 1977.

It is my belief, as previously stated that she is the greatest singer that never made it on the world stage - a sentiment reflected in an image that i knicked off the net which sums up my feelings about the great Renee Geyer - "The best R&B singer in the world - that you never heard of". Well most Australians know of Renee, but the world isn't familiar with this distinctive and remarkable vocalist. Hopefully youtube and word of mouth will help showcase her talent. Enjoy!
