Fox released "Only you can" as their debut song in the United Kingdom in 1975, and it was a Top 10 hit there. In Australia the track barely registered, reaching a lowly #68! It was a year later and the smash hit "SSS Single Bed" that broke them downunder, climbing to #1 and spending several months in the Top 40, thanks to the clip being played on "Countdown" and "Sounds Unlimited". While "SSS Single Bed" was still charting, the Australian label decided to issue "Only you can" as a double 'A' side single with another former British hit "Imagine me Imagine You". The great value 7" was also a solid hit in Australia, spending 6 months in the chart, reaching the Top 15, but was also the last time that Fox and Noosha (aka Susan Traynor) would grace the Top 40. The version of "Only you can" that was reissued was also a slightly different version than the one originally a hit 18 months before. I have posted the reworked version. It is further proof of that distinctive sound that Fox demonstrated, and the allure of their unique lead singer. Enjoy!
