Group to Honor Buffalo Soldiers

PLATEAU, Ala. (WPMI) A local group hopes to be first to build a Buffalo Soldier Museum, including a monument and souvenir shop. Local 15 News caught up with them Friday at the Plateau Cemetery. The cemetery was established shortly after the Civil War. The group tells us they are working on several projects to keep the memory of Buffalo Soldiers alive. Currently, the group is working on gaining non-profit status and are promoting themselves on social media to help raise funds. The museum is projected to cost $30 million.
