In the last video, Musashi takes on and takes out the Elite Four--I mean the Council of Four--and finally reaches the throne room. The only person standing in the way of liberation from the Empire is the Emperor himself, Octavius. But you know he is not going to go down without a fight, and indeed, he is going to put up the biggest fight of anyone prior to the end credits. A short, scrawny guy like him doesn't seem like much, but as you can see, by the time Musashi catches up to her father, he's collapsed on the floor, having been thoroughly defeated by Octavius.

This guy doesn't seem to know Sushido, but he knows an even stronger technique than that--something known as "What's Yours Is Mine," learned from his father and allows him to warp sushi right out of other people's hands and into his own. Sushido is powerless against this technique, as without sushi to eat, one cannot perform Sushido. And this guy won't hesitate to demonstrate What's Yours Is Mine against Musashi as well. Being the player character, of course, it falls to Musashi to settle things!

DEVOURER OF ALL
EMPEROR OCTAVIUS
Gourai (What's Yours Is Mine)
Kumaten (Double Shot)
Cryten (Stealth Striker)

You might remember Gourai, on loan to Tiburon (AKA Jubay), had Lightningzap as his ability. But when in Emperor Octavius's lineup, Gourai instead has What's Yours Is Mine. I didn't just put the ability names in parentheses like these as a reminder of what Sushi Sprite has which ability. Here we have one case of the same Sushi Sprite having a different one! (Gourai is unobtainable, so we don't really see what he would have on Musashi's side.)

What's Yours Is Mine, in sushi battles, allows Octavius to link plates on Musashi's lanes as well, giving him access to all 7 lanes. This has enormous linking potential if Musashi's Sushi Sprites' menus have similar colors to his, which chances are they do. What's Yours Is Mine is also a direct counter to Jinrai's Sushi Bonanza: If they are both active, Octavius will not hesitate to reach into Musashi's lanes and gobble up the sushi affected by Sushi Bonanza.

By the way, Octavius said that salmon is his favorite. (He must not have gotten along well with Purrsilla.) True to that, his Favorite Sushi is Legendary Salmon. Musashi does not have this Raw Power yet, but she will: It reduces damage by 3% each time an attach hits the user for 15% or more of his or her total HP. More on this later when Musashi unlocks it. Bear in mind, though, that Legendary Salmon is a gold-plate dish, so it'll be a while before Musashi's Sushi Sprites are at a high enough level that she can consistently obtain Legendary Salmon.

As we enter battle...yep, Octavius has 33,000 HP, by far the highest of anyone we've seen yet. He has a 12,000 HP advantage over Musashi, but he is not unbeatable. What you need is to reach Sushi Jubilee quickly, bring damage-dealing Sushi Sprites with you, and attack him powered by both Jubilee and the Sprites. To that end, I switched my lineup when you weren't looking. (That is, I edited that out.)

MUSASHI
Tigazo (Electrozap)
Penzo (Sweets Paradise)
Jinrai (Sushi Bonanza)

It's only fitting that the lineup I use to take on Octavius and hold my own against him are the first three Sushi Sprites Musashi ever got. They continue to be useful all the way up to the end. How's that for game balance! (Healing-based Sushi Sprites are actually drastically underpowered in the metagame though. The metagame shifted toward high damage very fast, enough to KO the opponent from full HP with a single table's worth of stacks. Defensive Sushi Sprites can help, like Sushi Shield and Stealth Striker, but healing ones have been rendered largely worthless, possibly except for Batten.)

And so, Octavius is vanquished, and peace returns--no, wait, there's more. The final battle awaits in the next Sushi Striker video, and Octavius will have an even fiercer lineup! Stay tuned.
