And, of course, we still got the secret path in the Tundra area to go through. This one is a standard-length path with four enemies, as the Tundra is a standard-length location. Kind of odd that there would be an undiscovered Sushi Sprite shrine so close to a place under the Empire's jurisdiction that's also heavily watched and patrolled, but hey, there's a pattern to keep! And Musashi's got a nose to follow, much like Toucan Sam...nevermind the fact that toucans, like most other birds, don't have much of a sense of smell. (I won't be tackling the one in the Central Empire for quite some time though. There are some REAL tough enemies there.)

Before that though, we got some more progress in our Sushi Sprites in that Ara-o has Awakened--I wasn't sure if he had a bigger form or not, but it looks like he does. Now he's an acrobatic anthro tanuki wielding a pair of brooms! Fits with his skill, though, which removes any lingering Sushi Sprite effects at the moment. Clean Plate has saved my bacon a bunch in the late-game and post-game.

This video is rather long, as there are a bunch of soldiers from the Empire here with Sushi Sprites designed for defense and stalling. We begin with Surveyor Gutman.

GUTMAN
Kazurava (Plate Plunder)
Yukizo (Skill Ban)
Clouzo (Ghost Sushi)

All three of these Sushi Sprites can be found in the Seashore area, where, as you might recall, Ausprey and his defensively-minded henchwomen had stationed themselves. That means this one will take some time if you can't finish him off quickly, which I hadn't yet had the means to do so.

STUMACH
Boneten (Soul Shot)
Batten (HP Hunter)
Rosekan (Fancy Striker)

On the other hand, Surveyor Stumach has a highly offense-oriented set here, boosting his attack power with Soul Shot and Fancy Striker so he can heal it back and then some with HP Hunter. By the way, also contributing to the length of these matches is the fact that we're still in Facility territory and so wasabi is present in these lanes without Wasabi Blast. Honestly, I don't know why this one took so long, jsut that Musashi wasn't inflicting much damage.

GULLET
Yukizo (Skill Ban)
Hellzo (Tub Trouble)
Batten (HP Hunter)

Part of why these guys are so much trouble, though, is that their Sushi Sprites' skills have all been maxed out. I really don't like this Skill Charm mechanic. Just let the Sushi Sprites upgrade their skills as they level up. That way, we don't have to grind for ages to get the ones we want. Not that there's going to be a Sushi Striker 2 or anything...

TUNG
Kama-o (Wasabi Blast)
Rosekan (Fancy Striker)
Kazurava (Plate Plunder)

JUST what we need, someone with Wasabi Blast in a wasabi zone. I mean, there was that whole squad of Wasabi Blast specialists (whom I believe were former Cherrykan specialists), so I know what to expect, but this guy's Kama-o has a maxed out Wasabi Blast (which you can tell by the fireball replacing the square around the number). After a long battle with me trying to fulfill as many of the star conditions as possible, Kumaten also finally Ascends, who now wields an axe and wears a scuba mask. Weird.

Defeating Cpt. Tung gets Musashi access to the shrine. Apparently, this one is for Golekan, whom you may remember as being in Warden Sualo's lineup in the Facility, but you get him as a Potential Plate. Golekan's ability is Claustrophobia, which erects walls between each of the target's lanes. The walls can be linked through; rather, the trouble lies in their blocking the view. In a sense, this performs a similar purpose as Blackout by obscuring the plates. For Claustrophobia, it forces the target to either memorize the plate colors in the small gap between the lane entrance and the beginning of the wall or to identify them based on the top of each plate of sushi. This is best used during non-Jubilee time, as the sushi is more scrambled up at this point; otherwise, having the same sushi show up in neat rows makes it rather easy to deal with Claustrophobia.

And like with Crowkan's Blackout, Golekan and its Claustrophobia pairs up very well with Clouzo and its Ghost Sushi, as that renders the opponent completely unable to see anything over those walls. (Just don't put Crowkan together with Golekan, as Claustrophobia will render Blackout redundant.) Dragokan and Runaway Lanes, and Unikan and Double-Edged Lanes, work quite well too through overwhelming your opponent and not giving them the time to think they'll need. Faeten and her Sushi Shuffle will end any successful attempt at a long chain your opponent might pull, as well as disassembling any neat formations the game may have generated. And since your opponent will likely be completely focused on looking for plates to link, Bakuzo and his Autoshoot Shutdown can either neutralize particular plate stacks or throw your opponent off their tempo entirely.

With Musashi getting Golekan's Potential Plate, we will enter Area 7 as Musashi storms the Imperial palace to finish off the Empire once and for all.
