VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WPMI) A memorial service is planned for next week for former U.S. Senator and Mobile native Jeremiah Denton. He is best known for using Morse code to blink the word "torture" during a televised interview while he was being held as a POW in Vietnam. A memorial mass is planned for Tuesday in Virginia Beach, where Denton lived. Another service will be held in Washington, D.C. Details on that service have not been announced. Denton will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
