MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) Mayor Stimpson continues to review the city's finances, there may be a change coming to benefit tax payers. In a roundtable discussion, the Stimpson suggested getting rid of the one cent sales tax, but it all depends on the numbers and review of the 2014 fiscal year budget. We've got to do what is in the best interest for the citizens of Mobile. And until we can go through a budget process our self and figure out where we can save money, I think it's just short sighted to say we're going to rescind it before it's termination date, said Mayor Stimpson. Stimpson hopes to get rid of the penny sales tax by the 2015 fiscal year.
