MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) Former Mobile Mayor Sam Jones is talking about his new seat on the MAWSS board for the first time since the controversy over his appointment.

His appointment caused quite a battle among the Mobile City Council, getting shot down twice.

Jones took his seat on the board for the first time Monday,and had little to say about the political posturing it took to get him there.

"It's unfortunate that the repercussion was in the community, but I can't speak specifically to any of that," said Jones.

It took Mayor Sandy Stimpson stepping in and supporting the appointment for it to finally pass.
