MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. (WPMI) Kaitlyn Hughes has now filed a lawsuit against the Mobile County Animal Shelter after her kitten, Porkchop, was mistakenly taken to the shelter and put down in just nine minutes because they thought he was feral. During a Local 15 investigation, we found that during the first two months of 2013, 400 animals were put down. Nearly a third of them were euthanized on the same day they arrived, despite a shelter policy that clearly states that animals are to be held for a mandatory seven day period.
