Holiday Meal for Military Members

ORANGE BEACH, Ala. (WPMI) Dozens of men and women in uniform celebrated Christmas Day at the Florida-Alabama state line.
 
"This is actually amazing that they do this here, because to come here and get a home cooked meal and get some food from great people here that we got to talk to, it's amazing it really is, it reminds you a little bit of home," said Grant Bergman, who is in the Navy.
 
For over 35 years, staff at the Flora-Bama have bussed in military members stationed at the nearby Naval Air Station in Pensacola.
 
"In every event we have at the Flora-Bama, we literally remind everybody, we are standing here and doing this today because they are oversees and around the world fighting for us," explained John McInnis, one of the owners of the bar.
 
This year, military members were provided a hot meal, entertainment, gifts and many thanks from others in attendance.  
 
"Just to hear that people are grateful for us, you know we miss our homes, we miss our families but when people tell us they are appreciative it really makes it all worth it," said Bergman.
 
In total, more than 300 people celebrated their Christmas on the state line.
