MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) Many have questions about President Obamas new healthcare plan, and there is not much time for answers.Despite the contentious debate in Washington as lawmakers try to defund it, enrollment for coverage through the Affordable Care Act begins in October.  Providence Hospital is one of a few places in the state providing help for those interested. It is in the process of developing Providence C.A.R.E or Coverage Assistance Resources and Eligibility.The way it has been set up the exchange has been set up, it's like one stop shopping, said Providence Hospital Director of Business Services Donna Brag. Starting October first, the uninsured, underinsured, or those seeking different options can opt to enroll for health insurance through the Affordable Care Act. Bragg said, So you don't have to go to every payer and get quotes and benefits versus premium. It will be there online for you.We're going to call our campaign care, and it'll stand for coming to Providence, if you have insurance, it'll stand for Coverage, Assistance, Resources, and Eligibility, said Tate. So we want to help people in those areas.The hospital is also hiring navigators or people set to educate and help with enrollment, and it is all funded through a federal grant. Enrollment starts in October and will last about 6 months, according to Providence health officials. There, applicants can pick out a plan that best fits their budget and coverage needs. There's four levels of coverage, bronze, silver, gold. And [its] based on coverage you want and what you can afford, said Tate. Providence Hospital officials said last year it had nearly 45,000 E.R. visits. Half of those patients were uninsured. Officials said it is why it pushed to receive grant money to help educate and enroll the uninsured.
