BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WPMI) From major potential changes to the education system, to big economic developments and infrastructural improvements - 2015 brings a lot to look forward to in Baldwin County.  

One of the first and major issues that is set to be tackled is a referendum vote, set to happen March 31. The proposed 8-mil increase will help fund a $350 million dollar capital improvement plan for the county school district.

No work can begin on alleviating the overcrowding in schools until money is approved, but it's a different story when it comes to addressing the congestion on the county roads. 

In South Baldwin and the Eastern Shore, new traffic systems are being studied. 

The system uses a camera to analyze traffic flow and computers to make decisions on whether to let traffic go through lights and when to hold it back. 

This is expected to make the drive on major Highways, including Highway 59, 98 and 90 a lot smoother. Also making it faster for visitors and residents to get to many attraction within the county. 
 
One of those attractions is the long awaited Foley Sports Complex, phase one of which is expected to open in Fall. 

More sports and more events continue to bring in more tourists to the area. After another record-breaking year on the shores of Baldwin, hopes are high for 2015. 
 
City leaders in Orange Beach are making safety a priority for the visitors and residents alike, with plans of installing sidewalks and medians on heavy trafficked roads. 
 
In Foley, the city will be celebrating their Centennial. Celebrations start with a clock tower dedication on January 8. 
 
In Fairhope, headway is expected to be made on the long awaited soccer complex. It is set to open in the fall.
