Phillip Sear plays the published solo piano version of a jazz waltz written in 1961 for the movie 'All Night Long' (1962) by Dave Brubeck (1920-2012). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The American jazz pianist Dave Brubeck needs no introduction from me. The British movie 'All Night Long' was based on Shakespeare's Othello, and was effectively a showcase for some of the best jazz musicians of the period - including Charles Mingus, Johnny Dankworth, and Tubby Hayes, as well as Brubeck. The musicians play themselves, and Brubeck plays a greatly extended version of this piece with his quartet in the wedding anniversary party scene near the beginning of the movie. You can see the movie version here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NuYqqE6TxZE . My thumbnail shows a detail from the movie poster artwork. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------- Played by Phillip Sear http://www.psear.co.uk (Email: [email protected] WhatsApp: http://wa.me/441444483794 ) TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@pianogems
