#1 from 6 Impromptus de Salon (published 1868) --------------------------------------------------------------------- The composer and pianist Joseph Rummel (1818-80) was a member of a German family of musicians - his father, Christian was a composer and conductor, and his grandson Walter was a well-known transcriber for piano of works by Bach, Liszt and others. I like the variety of texture that Rummel achieves in this evocative piece. My thumbnail features a 2009 photo of an old bell tower in Villemus, southern France by Serge Robert (source: https://tinyurl.com/y8y4cy4q ). ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Played by Phillip Sear http://www.psear.co.uk (Email: [email protected] WhatsApp: http://wa.me/441444483794 ) TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@pianogems
