Hilarion Alexandrovich Koslov (Козлов) (1878-1933) was a Kazan-born blind violinist, pianist and composer, who also studied the folk music of the Volga and Urals regions of Russia. For more about the composer, see: http://enc-dic.com/enc_music/Kozlov-I-A-3503.html . This piece, from the early 1900s, is an effective pastiche - although the piano writing in the middle section probably owes more to Rachmaninov's 'Polka de WR' than to Schubert!
