Phillip Sear plays a serenade from 1898 by Ede Poldini. -------------------------------------------------------- Ede (Eduard) Poldini (1869–1957) was a Hungarian composer who studied in Budapest and Vienna, but spent much of his life in Switzerland. He is mainly remembered for his 1895 trifle "Poupée valsante" (Dancing Doll), but wrote much else, including two operas (one of which—'Hochzeit im Fasching' (Wedding in Carnival-Time, from 1924)—is available in a Hungarian recording), and much piano music. This piece comes from an early set of three serenades from 1898.
