In addition to the eyemask, you'll also receive two pairs of foam earplugs in a travel case. The sleep mask is made of a soft, padded foam material and has an adjustable elastic headband with a plastic disconnect clasp. The eyecups on the mask are raised so that the mask only makes contact with your face around your eyes and does not sit on top of them. I found that this mask effectively seals out 99% of light. I only saw a little bit of light bleed in at the bridge of my nose, but this will depend on the specific contours of your face.

The mask is lightweight and comfortable to wear. The ear plugs are identical in terms of comfort and effectiveness as the ones you would find at your local hardware store for ear protection. To use the earplugs, roll the cone shaped end between your fingers until it is compressed. Then insert the it in your ear as far as it can go and hold it there for 30-60 seconds to allow the foam to expand. When used together, the sleep mask and earplugs block light and sound allowing you to have a dark quiet environment to fall asleep.
