This amplifier does an okay job increasing the volume of your audio, but I didn't experience the 120% increase promised (a bit more than double the volume, right?) when I measured the decibel levels, it was louder, but only by 5 or 10 decibels. The unit is easy to use, plug and play, and charges via a microUSB cable. The battery takes less than 30 minutes to charge and will last for approximately 12 hours of use on a full charge depending on your volume level and whether you use both headphone ports.

In addition, you can output to two headphones or speakers at the same time. The benefit to increased audio using the amplifier is that you can turn the volume down on your source device, saving it some battery. With the additional headphone port you can share your music or audio with a friend, say if you both want to watch a movie on your smart phone or tablet.

With the amplifier, it's definitely louder, but everything is amplified, including white noise like hissing when there's no or low audio.
As advertised the bass is increased heavily, which may not suit all music tastes or preferences. Overall, you'll get a boost of sound, but not a lot of improvement in the audio quality and it works fine as a headphone splitter.
