The Danish composer Siegfried Langgaard (1852–1914) is better known as the father of the famous Rued Langgaard than for his own work, but he was a pupil of Gade and also studied with Liszt, who praised his piano concerto in a letter which can be seen on t.ly/0yv-I . The piano concerto was recorded in 1999 by Oleg Marshev. The repeated notes in the introduction to this lullaby are unusual in this sort of piece, and maybe suggest a folk instrument.
